Wellington Wheelers Cycling Club

Wellington Wheelers Cycling Club. A social cycling club based in Wellington Somerset for riders of all ages and abilities. We run rides throughout the week as well as Time Trials in the summer and trips to the Newport Velodrome. The social side of the club is also taken very seriously with each ride having a cafe stop, and several events planned through the year including a summer BBQ, an Easter Egg Hunt and the Christmas lunch. For more information please contact us.

Resumption of Club Rides

Rules/Guidance

‘Social Distancing’ of 2 metres should be observed at the start, during the ride, any Café stop, mechanical incident/accident or medical emergency and at the conclusion of the ride.

A maximum of 6 people will create a ‘bubble’ for the duration of the ride. You should stay within your ‘bubble’ and should not mix with others! This does not stop you having a ‘Socially Distanced’ conversation at the start, Café stop, or at the end of the ride.

A register of all riders will be taken at the start of the ride and a note made of the individual ‘bubbles’. Arriving early will help us in collecting this information! This will enable us to assist in any ‘Track & Trace’ requirements should a rider become infected with Covid19!

During the ‘restricted bubble period’ it is going to be impossible to allocate an unknown number of ‘ride leaders’ for each ride, therefore we ask that experienced long standing members of the Club step forward and help manage the groups.

You should ensure your bike is maintained properly and ‘fit for purpose’ before arriving at the start. Punctures & mechanical issues will arise and you should be in a position to deal with them yourself. There may be circumstances where this is not practical so it is recommended that all riders carry a face covering/mask, hand sanitiser or wipes in case help is needed.

It will assist the Club if we can get an idea of the likely numbers who think they may ride on a Sunday.

We will review the rules/guidance as necessary!

Whatever you do, keep riding and stay safe.
