Clive Hathaway - Chairman
Clive and his family moved to Somerset in 1998, and in the summer of 2014 Clive took up road cycling, joining Wellington Wheelers Cycling Club in October of that year. Clive has always enjoyed involving himself in club activities, including everything from Club Time Trials, Hill Climbs and, of course, the Club Skittles evening. Along with his son, Thomas, he has been keen to help new members and always finds time to encourage those who are keen to improve.
Charles Biscoe - Membership Secretary/Treasurer
Charles has been with the club for many years and leads the B group rides. He is the man to talk to about your membership. He is keen to see the club grow to include all sorts of riding - mountain biking, time trialling, hill climbs, holidays, events - and encourages all sorts of people from the novice to the dedicated racer.
Phil Leavey - Secretary
Phil is the club secretary; he takes notes of meetings and writes letters/emails to people. He helps to organise Time Trials and the Club Audax ride.
He enjoys the Sunday rides, especially as there are so many new riders now, which is very encouraging for the club. Phil is also a regular rider on the Tuesday rides. He is pleased so many club members are getting involved and helping out with events.
Sue Parker and Julie Brayley
Julie and Sue have spent many years cycling around Somerset but both have become members of WWCC in the last few years. The friendly, social nature of the club draws them, and constantly setting new goals challenges them. Julie has done Audaxes and Sportives, and Sue has taken on the club Time Trials with the Hill Climb facing her in 2018.
Sue and Julie recognise the vital part of the club’s social events so have taken on the role of Social Secretary together to see this continue and develop.
Jon Curtis - Clothing Officer
Jon is the man in charge of our official Wellington Wheelers kit. If you're looking for a club jersey or shorts he's the man to get in touch with. Send an email through the website and we'll pass it on.
Carrie - Club Mascot
Working Cocker Spaniel Carrie is the Wellington Wheelers mascot. She belongs to Sue Rimes and can be see at most club events, especially at Time Trials when she helps sign riders on. The best way to make friends with Carrie is to give her a good stroke.
