Matt Bowen - Chairman
Matt joined the Wellington Wheelers after moving to Somerset from Cheshire in 2013. He likes road cycling and mountain biking but his favourite is the velodrome. He's keen to encourage more new riders to the club of all abilities and spread the name of Wellington Wheelers far and wide. Matt also looks after our website so if you have any suggestions of anything you'd like to see included in the site then mark your comments for his attention.
Charles Biscoe - Membership Secretary/Treasurer
Charles has been with the club for ten years and leads the B group rides. He is the man to talk to about your membership. He is keen to see the club grow to include all sorts of riding - mountain biking, time trialling, hill climbs, holidays, events - and encourages all sorts of people from the novice to the dedicated racer.
Phil Leavey - Secretary
Phil is the club secretary; he takes notes of meetings and writes letters/emails to people. He helps to organise Time Trials and the Club Audax ride.
He enjoys the Sunday rides, especially as there are so many new riders now, which is very encouraging for the club. Phil is also a regular rider on the Tuesday rides. He is pleased so many club members are getting involved and helping out with events.
Alice Rimes - Media Officer/Social Secretary
Alice has been a member of the Wellington Wheelers since she was very little. She is passionate about encouraging more women to take up cycling. She's also our media guru and knows how to enjoy herself which is why we made her our Social Secretary. She has her own blog Hello Velo aimed at female cyclists.
Jon Curtis - Clothing Officer
Jon is the man in charge of our official Wellington Wheelers kit. If you're looking for a club jersey or shorts he's the man to get in touch with. Send an email through the website and we'll pass it on.
Carrie - Club Mascot
Working Cocker Spaniel Carrie is the Wellington Wheelers mascot. She belongs to Sue Rimes and can be see at most club events, especially at Time Trials when she helps sign riders on. The best way to make friends with Carrie is to give her a good stroke.
