Wellington Wheelers Cycling Club

Wellington Wheelers Cycling Club. A social cycling club based in Wellington Somerset for riders of all ages and abilities. We run rides throughout the week as well as Time Trials in the summer and trips to the Newport Velodrome. The social side of the club is also taken very seriously with each ride having a cafe stop, and several events planned through the year including a summer BBQ, an Easter Egg Hunt and the Christmas lunch. For more information please contact us.

Who's Who?

Charles Biscoe - Membership Secretary/Treasurer

Charles has been with the club for many years and organises the B group rides. He is the man to talk to about your membership. He is keen to see the club grow to include all sorts of riding - mountain biking, time trialling, hill climbs, holidays, events -  and encourages all sorts of people from the novice to the dedicated racer.

Phil Leavey - Secretary

Phil is the club secretary; he takes notes of meetings and writes letters/emails to people. He helps to organise Time Trials and the Club Audax ride.

He enjoys the Sunday rides, especially as there are so many new riders now, which is very encouraging for the club. Phil is also a regular rider on the Tuesday rides.  He is pleased so many club members are getting involved and helping out with events.

 Sue Parker and Julie Brayley

Social Secretaries

Julie and Sue have spent many years cycling around Somerset but both have become members of WWCC in the last few years. The friendly, social nature of the club draws them, and constantly setting new goals challenges them. Julie has done Audaxes and Sportives, and Sue has taken on the club Time Trials with the Hill Climb facing her in 2018.

Sue and Julie recognise the vital part of the club’s social events so have taken on the role of Social Secretary together to see this continue and develop.
